Sparta Systems, Inc. Becomes Associate Member of the Food Products Association (FPA)

Relationship will Facilitate the Continued Development of Leading Quality and Compliance Management Solutions for the Food and Beverage Industry

Holmdel, NJ - April 14, 2006 – Sparta Systems, Inc., (Sparta), the maker of TrackWise® and the market leader in enterprise Quality Management System (QMS) software for the life sciences and other highly regulated industries, announced that it has been granted Associate Membership into the Food Products Association (FPA), the principal scientific and technical trade association representing the food products industry. Associate Membership is designated for any company actively and regularly engaged in furnishing services to the food processing industry. Sparta will utilize its relationship with the FPA to help address the regulatory needs of the industry with its leading edge compliance management solutions.

The modernization of food processing GMPs, combined with heightened emphasis on environmental and public safety issues by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has prompted food and beverage industries to begin evaluating quality platforms that allow them to effectively manage regulatory, quality and environmental health and safety processes within the same compliance management software platform.

"We see many quality management trends developing in the food and beverage industry that parallel those that Sparta has been addressing for a decade in the life sciences industry," explained Steven R. Cagle, Sparta's Vice President of Marketing and Product Development. "Food and kindred products manufacturers are facing ever-increasing regulatory challenges while still having to remain competitive and meet time-to-market pressures and complex production spanning multiple countries. The FPA and its member companies serve as the most valuable resources for addressing the forces driving the food industry. Our membership will allow us to gain an industry perspective and work directly with its stakeholders to ensure our solutions are addressing their challenges."

Sparta Systems' leadership in the FDA-regulated life sciences and biotechnology industries with TrackWise demonstrates the software's unmatched ability to centralize an unlimited number of quality and regulatory processes into a single, integrated system. TrackWise is a Web-based, configurable solution that helps organizations gain efficiencies and achieve compliance by integrating related events and actions, automating workflow, and facilitating trending and reporting across quality and food safety systems, including, but not limited to, the management of quality, safety and regulatory related events (Incidents, Out of Specifications) and related Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA). TrackWise meets the quality initiatives of any organization involved in manufacturing, processing, testing, or packaging of food products and ingredients, and provides the structure to meet requirements of GMPs, FDA, USDA, ISO 2200, ISO 14001, HACCP, and 21 CFR Part 11 standards.

TrackWise is currently used by over 150 companies worldwide for managing quality and regulatory processes including Quality Management (Complaints, Deviations, Investigations, CAPA, Audits, Change Control), Regulatory Affairs (Commitments, Label Tracking), Environmental Health & Safety (Incidents, Audits), Sarbanes-Oxley requirements (Change Control, Self Assessment and Whistle Blower tracking) and Action Item Tracking.
