Sparta Systems, Inc. Releases TrackWise 6.0

Adds additional capabilities to Quality Management Solutions for Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device Firms

Holmdel, NJ - February 16, 2004 – Sparta Systems, Inc., the market leader in enterprise Quality Management Systems (QMS), and makers of TrackWise® Quality Management Software, today announced the release TrackWise 6.0. The TrackWise system is the most widely used QMS software in the life sciences industries. It enables organizations to track and report on key events that impact quality and compliance, giving customers a major advantage in compliance with regulations from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other agencies.

"TrackWise 6.0 brings increased functionality and flexibility, enabling our customers to achieve further return on investment," said Rafi Maslaton, COO of Sparta Systems. "This version also introduces the first phase of our new integration initiative. We have partnered with leading companies in the Content Management space to provide fully integrated solutions." Mr. Maslaton noted that additional integration capabilities will be released over the next several months. This spring, Sparta Systems will be launching TrackWise Web Services, which will provide the ability to integrate with other strategic systems throughout the enterprise.

The new TrackWise version is already shipping, and some of Sparta's larger pharmaceutical and medical device customers have already begun their upgrade process.

Highlights of the new version include:

Support for Multiple Languages

This new feature allows TrackWise users to view the TeamAccess user interface in their native language. All configuration items, as well as system terminology can be translated. The application supports multi-byte characters sets.

Web-based Local Administration

This new feature allows for configuration of Local "Site" Administrators to handle day to day system administration.

Integration Electronic Content / Document Management Software

Fueled by the recent partnerships with Documentum and OpenText, TrackWise now supports integration to Documentum ECM Platform® and Livelink® respectively. The integration provides users with a seamless solution for integrated Quality and Document Management.

Dashboard

This new screen allows end-users to better organize and handle their tasks, by creating saved filters and report preferences, via personalized dashboard screens. It also provides managers with and executive overview of CAPA Health, outstanding issues, and compliance at sites across the enterprise.

HTML Rich Text

This feature allows users to enter free form text data in Rich Text Format in free form text fields.

Virtual Fields

This feature enables the availability of the parent record's current data on all related records.

Admin Triggers™

This new addition to the TrackWise Coordinator™ enables administrators to define dynamic business rules and AutoTrending™. The new feature enables definition of business rules between related records when events occur. Admin Triggers enables unlimited business rules between various record types in the TrackWise application (e.g., when event occurs on a CAPA record, perform some action on a related Change Control record). The new functionality also includes the ability to configure pre-determined thresholds, and then execute an action when the threshold is reached.

Full Text Search

This feature allows free-text searching of the contents of Selection fields, String Fields, free form text fields, and File Attachment Fields, using a simple and intuitive user interface. The interface design is similar to a standard web search engine interface.

LDAP Synchronization Utility

This utility synchronizes Person Data between an LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) server and a TrackWise database. The utility can be used to synchronize data such as user names, e-mail, phone, etc. This is an incremental addition to the existing LDAP user authentication (id and password authentication) feature.
