Sparta Systems Appoints New President and CEO

Veteran Industry Leader James E. McGowan Assumes Leadership of Enterprise Quality and Compliance Management Pioneer

Holmdel, NJ - April 14, 2008 - Sparta Systems, Inc., the market leader in enterprise quality and compliance management software, today announced that James E. McGowan has been appointed President and CEO.  McGowan succeeds founder, Ran J. Flam, who will remain as Chairman of the Board.

Jim joins Sparta Systems with more than three decades of success in both large and entrepreneurial technology oriented companies. In his last two engagements, McGowan was President and CEO of EIS Software Inc. and Infinium Software Inc. McGowan is also an eighteen year veteran of IBM, culminating as a Regional Manager with $1 billion in revenue and 1,200 employees under his leadership.

McGowan has an established track record of developing and executing corporate business strategies and in growing and expanding companies in their respective markets. His experience and leadership, coupled with his ability to align technology vision with business strategy, position him as the ideal candidate to lead Sparta Systems into its next phase of corporate growth and continued market dominance.

James McGowan received a BA in Economics from Boston College and served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps.
